Springville man dies in traffic accident
A Springville man died in a traffic accident Saturday night, the Lindsay Department of Public Safety reported.
Ernest Doster, 82, of Springville, died at the scene of the accident in the area of Highway 65 and Tulare Road in Lindsay.
Few details of the accident that occurred about 1 a.m. were provided.
Lindsay Public Safety officers were called to the collision between a blue 2007 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Ernesto Rodriguez, 35, and a silver 1992 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight driven by Doster.
Rodriguez sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta District Hospital.
A woman in the Oldsmobile sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to Sierra View District Hospital.
Rodriguez was delivering the Saturday-Sunday edition of The Recorder from the printer in Visalia.
Recorder circulation manger Jeremy Feldman went to Lindsay and picked up papers at the crash site and they were eventually sent out for delivery, but were obviously late.
Feldman said some papers were lost in the collision, but he did not have an estimate on what impact that would have on home deliveries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision and the cause is still under investigation.
