Proclamation to be given
Mayor Ed Murray will present a proclamation to Deanna Pettus declaring September 17 through September 23rd Constitution week. This September 17, marks the 225th anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution by the Constitutional Convention. Public Law 915 guarantees that the President of the United States will issue a proclamation each year designating this week.
The council will also review a sign proposal, from the Lindsay Hospital District Board, for the Lindsay Wellness Center. The sign would be 17 and one half feet tall, it would be viewable from both directions, would require 63 and three quarter square signage on each side and would be back lit with fluorescent lighting. It would be able to advertise the center as well and would hold an electronic message board below for advertisers. The clearance from the ground to the base would be ten feet and would be covered in colors that would be complimentary to the center. The Board would pay for the cost of purchasement and erectment and the City would help with the electricity.
The other item up for request and approval is the use of the Sweet Brier Plaza by Virgina Loya, of the Chamber of Commerce, to hold the Chili Cookoff on Saturday, October 6, 2012.
The Lindsay City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 251 E. Honolulu St., Lindsay.
