LINDSAY — A deputy who responded to a fight in progress between family members around 9 p.m. on Thursday was allegedly struck in the face as he attempted to arrest suspect Oliver Hurtado.
Upon arriving to the 800 block of North Laurel Avenue, deputies found family members reportedly restraining Hurtado in the front yard of the residence.
While the deputy was arresting Hurtado, he reportedly became combative and allegedly proceeded to strike the officer in the face with his head.
He was subsequently booked at the Porterville Substation on suspicion of alleged battery on a peace officer with injuries and felony obstruction.
