Local man arrested for violating restraining order

PORTERVILLE

A 36-year-old Porterville man is in custody for violating a domestic violence restraining order when spotted walking with a juvenile Friday afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of East Chase Avenue. The Porterville Police Department reports that officers responded to reports of a suspicious man.

The man, later identified as Arnold Verdugo, was located walking in the area with a juvenile.

Police said Verdugo had three felony warrants for his arrest and that there was a restraining order against him from having any contact with the juvenile.

He was arrested and later booked into the custody of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of violation of the restraining order and for the felony warrants.
