Crime Blotter 08/06/12
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Public Intoxication
Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of West Henderson Avenue regarding a male subject standing in the roadway and pointing his finger in the shape of a gun toward passing vehicles. Officers contacted Anthony Jimenez, 44, and immediately determined Jimenez was very intoxicated. Jimenez was arrested and transported to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Porterville Substation and booked.
Warrant Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Orange Avenue regarding a warrant subject. Officers arrived and contacted David Chavez who was in a vehicle. Chavez was determined to have an active warrant and was arrested. Chavez issued a citation with an agreement to appear and released from the police department.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Desiree Vaughn in the lobby of the police department. A warrant check on Vaughn revealed a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. Vaughn was issued an agreement to appear in court for her warrant.
Petty Theft
Officers responded to Food 4 Less for a theft report. Guadalupe Gonzalez, 54, was detained by loss prevention for shoplifting. She was taken into custody and the property was returned to the business. She was booked at the Porterville Police Department and released with an agreement to appear in court.
Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Luis Vasquez, 27, during a traffic stop at Date Avenue and Plano Street. Vasquez was determined to have an active felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and taken into custody then transported to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Porterville Substation where he was booked.
