Crime Blotter 02/19/13
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It should be noted that only arrests are reported, and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Possession of Methamphetamine / Possession of a Prohibited Knife
Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of North Wisconsin Street regarding a disturbance. Upon arrival, Jessie Hernandez fled on foot. Officers caught up to Jessie and he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a concealed dagger. Jessie was arrested and later booked at the Tulare County Main Jail.
Vandalism
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East Putnam Avenue regarding vandalism. The victim stated on Feb. 19, at approximately 1 a.m., an unknown subject threw a rock breaking the rear driver’s side and rear passenger window of her black 2002 Ford Expedition.
Assault with a Deadly Weapon
Officers were dispatched to Henderson Avenue and Division Street regarding a fight in progress. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the victim who identified a suspect who confronted him at this location and started an argument. The victim stated during the argument, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the left forearm. The victim stated that the suspect fled the scene in his green Honda Civic. The victim was treated at Sierra View District Hospital for his injuries and released. Officers are actively investigating the case.
Located Stolen Vehicle
Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Milo Street regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim stated between 6 a.m. and 1:10 p.m. Feb. 19 subject(s) stole his purple 1998 Dodge Stratus from his residence. Officers checked the area and located the vehicle near the residence.
Burglary
Officers were dispatched to Porterville High School regarding a theft from two vending machines. Officers contacted school staff who stated between Feb.18 and 19 subjects forced entry into both vending machines located on campus.
DUI / Under Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Violation of Probation
A traffic stop was made at Indiana Street and Henderson Avenue. The driver, identified as Sandra Ibarra, 22, was on felony probation and further evaluation revealed she was under the influence of a controlled substance. Ibarra was arrested and subsequent search found her in possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at TCSD.
DUI
Officers were dispatched to Taco Bell on Henderson Avenue regarding a possible DUI driver in the parking lot. When officers arrived, they found a red 2000 Mercury Cougar partially in a planter with the driver, Stacey Holmes, unresponsive. An ambulance was summoned; however, Holmes started to come around. Several pill bottles were located in the vehicle indicating she had likely overdosed on pain medication. She was treated at Sierra View District Hospital and charged with DUI.
