UPDATE: Names released in Hwy. 190 crash

THE PORTERVILLE RECORDER

2:42 p.m. July 6

The California Highway Patrol has identified Thursday's crash victim as Rocio Martinez-Lopez and the driver of the Ford as Felipe Nunez of Pixley.

A 36 year-old Porterville woman, whose name is undisclosed due to pending notification, died Thursday in a two-car collision at the intersection of Highway 190 and Road 152.

The woman died after her Honda Civic was hit by a truck that failed to yield at a stop sign.
According to a collision report released by the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 10:22 p.m., the unidentified driver of the 1998 Ford F-150 truck was southbound on Road 152, approaching the intersection at a high rate speed. The Porterville woman was eastbound on Highway 190, also approaching the intersection.

As both cars approached the intersection, the Ford driver failed to stop and continued into the intersection at a high rate of speed.

According to the CHP report, the Ford immediately collided with the driver’s side of the Honda, rolling over multiple times and ejecting the driver out into a dirt field, leaving the Ford passenger, 29-year-old Jose Corrales-Delgado, partially ejected.

The Porterville woman remained pinned inside the car. All of the people involved were taken to nearby hospitals via helicopter and ambulance.

The woman died at Kaweah Delta Hospital, the CHP reported.

The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old male, who the CHP has not identified, was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving.
