Three injured in highway crash Tuesday
A 29-year-old Porterville woman was seriously injured after she was involved a two-car crash Tuesday.
The crash happened about 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 65 and Avenue 208. The California Highway Patrol reports that the woman, identified as Vanessa Howard, was driving her 2013 Dodge north on Highway 65 at about 65 mph. Howard was in the fast lane, approaching the intersection with Avenue 208 when 42-year-old Tracy Lynn Gutierrez of Lindsay, who was westbound on Avenue 208 at the highway, drove her 2010 Nissan directly in front of Howard’s car.
As a result of the crash, Howard sustained major injuries. Gutierrez and her 13-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.
All involved were taken to Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia.
The north and westbound lanes of Highway 65 were blocked for roughly 30 minutes.
