Performances at Harmony Magnet tonight
Program begins at 7 p.m.
Many of Harmony Magnet Academy’s performing art classes, along with the Harmony/Strathmore Concert Band and the Harmony Dance Department will perform at 7 p.m. today in the Harmony Magnet Academy Multi-Purpose Room at Harmony Magnet, 22568 Avenue 196, Strathmore.
It is all part of “Creating Characters” — one of the academy’s fall interdisciplinary projects that integrates many of the performing arts classes with English, history, the foreign languages and the Senior Capstone Course to illustrate how the classes relate to one another.
The theatre students will perform the play “Helga the Reluctant” and the choir will sing the sound effects for the production.
Displays will be set up in the entrance hall to showcase some of the student’s characterization projects, including theatre technology, stagecraft, graphic design, history, English, French, Spanish, dance and the APA Senior Capstone Course.
Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for students, with children 5 years and younger admitted free.
