Man robbed near theater
Comments 0PORTERVILLE -- Minor injuries were suffered when a man was robbed near a local movie theater at about 7 p.m. Sunday.
The victim, whose identity was not revealed, told police he had been near the Galaxy 9 Theatres when he was approached by three Hispanic men, believed to be between the ages of 18 and 25, Porterville Police Department Sgt. Duanne Griffin said.
The victim told police the alleged robbers punched him several times and took an unknown amount of money from him. The suspects then reportedly fled the scene in a silver-colored vehicle eastbound on Henderson Avenue, Griffin said.
Griffin said the victim refused medical treatment for the minor injuries suffered in the beating.
No suspects had been identified as of Monday, Griffin said.

The problem, faerydae, that you have acknowledged within Porterville has nothing to do with racism. It has everything to do with illegal immigration, primarily from Mexico by hordes of people who do not recognize the rule of law in this country. They break U.S. immigration laws by entering the USA illegally, then go on to commit fraud against this government and U.S. citizens by using phony or stolen ID's to work here illegally and commit more fraud to receive benefits they aren't entitled to such as welfare, education and medical treatment.
A huge part of the financial meltdown in this country has been caused by unscrupulous banks giving sub-prime loans to illegal aliens who were not legally eligible to buy homes in the first place. They've defaulted on those loans and ended up packing up in the middle of the night and walking away. There's no way to track them down for payment or fines because those homes were purchased with fraudulent ID's. These banks knew what they were doing for a quick buck. The whole thing blew up in their faces and we the American taxpayers are being held responsible for bailing out these corrupt banks and their CEO's.
Yes, the majority of crimes being committed here are being committed by illegal aliens or their children. Many of them have moved out of states like Oklahoma, Oregon, Georgia and Arizona because of new and improved laws that prevent them from working in those states illegally, getting driver's licenses or being eligible for social benefits such as education, free medical treatment and welfare programs. Many of them are moving to Porterville due to farmers who are still aiding and abetting illegal aliens in this area by hiring them as well as restaurants and other service oriented employers who hire these workers and exploit them.
The indisputable truth is that the majority of illegal aliens are Hispanic. And you're right, they're coming here for a "better life." Wouldn't you, if you could be paid under the table and keep every dime you make, receive FREE medical treatment, free education, free lunches for your kids and receive tax incentives for every kid you add to your brood? Their entire existence here is subsidized by American taxpayers!
Well, the bottom of this whole illegal immigration/cheap labor debacle has fallen out and we're going to be stuck with the tab. Instead of handing over $700 Billion Dollars to these corrupt banks to keep them from going belly up, we need to use that kind of money to secure our border with the ORIGINAL FENCE that was supposed to be built in November of 2006 and placing more Border Patrol agents and the National Guard along the U.S. Mexican Border and adding a couple of hundred thousand ICE enforcement officers to keep doing workplace raids in slaughter houses, at construction sites and farming industries to arrest and deport as many illegal aliens as is possible and arrest and fine all employers who hire them to work in their businesses.

> I’m sorry if this seems racist that truly wasn’t my intention
If this *seems* racist?
> where are we to go, once California has (is) turned to garbage.
There are 49 other states, some US Territories and hundreds of countries to choose from. Maybe one or more of them are a better fit for you, no one makes anyone stay here. You are free to go whenever you want.

> It has everything to do with illegal immigration
JPB - this only proves that you have never lived in other places that are not the same as Porterville.
Try going to a city where there are not as many Mexicans. The East Coast is a good example: do they have less crime? I can most certainly assure you they do not.
If you go to places where the crime exists, but has a different demographic, I can assure you that there are racists such as we find here that write identical letters to yours and fairydae's, but with the demographic references changed.
Funny thing is, those writers are never racist either. In their own eyes at least.
But anytime anyone says something that is a variation of "I am not racist, some of my best friends are [fill in the blank], but...." you can bet your last dollar the rest of what you will hear is going to be vile and racist.

humanisland,
Im perfectly aware there are 49 other states to move to, and other cities, we are still here instead of "finding somewhere better to live" due to a family member in her late years. Unless she decides to come with us, or until .....well.... Anyways we do plan on moving, which so many have also done, but running from the problem doesn't seem to be helping.
jbp1998, hit it right on the head, I understand there are criminals of all colors, but the majority seems to be coming from hispanics. You criminals should be ashamed that your not representing your ancestors and elders the way they should be.

You know it wasn't really this story in particular that made me post. I read a lot of different newspapers around Tulare County and sometimes the Fresno bee, but Porterville recorder daily, it was just that everywhere I browsed, a Hispanic suspect seemed to be involved, which isn't anything new lately. This one just somewhat perturbed me, due to the (I'm sure no harm was intended) galaxy nine must be the suspect joke, and that THREE Hispanics felt they needed to BEAT up on ONE guy. For one what happened to a fair fight? For two, all this crime seems to be getting out of control.

HUMANISLAND:
The subject that faerydae and I were discussing here is rising crime rates in Porterville, the majority of which are committed by Hispanics. It appears that faerydae has lived here long enough to see and know that the scales of balance have become grossly out of balance in Porterville, tilting toward the Hispanic population as perpetrators of more crimes more frequently than any other group in this area. Anyone would come to this conclusion just by looking at crime stats. Addressing this issue has nothing to do with racism. It has everything to do with fact.
The masses of illegal aliens, ignoring U.S. immigration laws and entering this country from Mexico over the past 8 to 10 years are not the same kind of immigrants that once came here LEGALLY to work. The proud, law abiding farm laborers who participated in the Braceros Program were an asset to this country and to the American farmer. They came here, worked, were paid fairly and when the work was done, they returned to their homes and families in Mexico until they were needed again and it was up to them to choose to remain in the program or not. There was no need for the American taxpayers to "hold them over financially" while they were out of work for the season or if a freeze wiped out crops. Welfare programs for them and their families were unheard of, mainly because these workers, like all other "imported laborers" at that time weren't allowed to bring their families here to become "potential burdens" on American taxpayers. These "Braceros" obeyed the laws, respected this country, respected themselves and their families.
The illegal aliens from Mexico who are coming here now are in no way comparable to the legal immigrants that once came here from Mexico. These NEW "immigrants" have a criminal mindset to begin with. They are not concerned with law and order from the beginning. They make illegal deals with other criminals (so called COYOTES, drug runners, human traffickers, etc.) to get them here, make deals with criminals in this country to remain here, (people who will forge documents for them, such as driver's licenses, etc.) teach their children to lie about their true identities, who they're related to, their immigration status and where they live. This sets up and unending loop of lawlessness and criminal behavior that continues to feed upon itself and it affects every community where these people embed themselves. They live, work and play on the fringe like criminals do until they are caught. These undesirable immigrants are the "problems in Mexico" and come here to be "problems" in the USA.
Imagine if the majority of U.S. criminals, from those that commit petty theft, to murderers and rapists and instead of jailing them here, we just tell them that it's their Patriotic duty to go to Mexico, get a job, send remittances back here and do what they like in Mexico because "it was once part of the USA anyway and it really belongs to us." These kind of people aren't real bright or highly educated to begin with. I believe the Mexican crime rate and Americans being arrested and jailed in Mexico would be comparable to Hispanics being arrested and jailed here.
This trend of heinous crimes being perpetrated by illegal aliens from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, etc., is happening all across this country. These illegals are committing acts of fraud daily just by being here and the American taxpayers are picking up the tab in more ways than financially. Acknowledging these facts is not racism. The race card is moot to anyone who really knows and sees exactly what is happening in this country and in our little town. Americans are being ran out of once safe and clean places to live by illegal aliens. Los Angeles is a microcosm of what will eventually happen all over the USA unless our borders are tightly secured and our current immigration are laws enforced.

Wow, you seem to have a mind meld with jpb, but when it comes to the common sense observation that different places have different demographics around crime, well, that doesn't make sense to you?
Really, you think that in all the other 49 states that only hispanics dominate the crime statistics, and that before there were hispanics here or there, there was no crime at all?
Is that what you are saying to us? Help me understand....

You mean a city with a vibrant, diverse economy, whose primary industries products are leaders in the world?
A city with a very high population of our most innovative thinkers in academia and businesses of all sorts?
You mean one of the leading tourist destinations of the world?
You mean one of the shipping hubs of the western United States?
You mean one with a crime rate similar to other industrial cities of our nation?
You mean a city that is the envy of the world for its diversity in ethnicities, food, and opinions?
You mean any of that, or are you just mean?
