Man accused of punching girlfriend, making death threats
A 28-year-old Porterville man accused of assaulting his girlfriend and threatening to kill her has been arrested.
The incident happened at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of West Date Avenue.
According to the Porterville Police Department, officers responded to the area after a woman called 911 pleading for help. Police said Fredy Perez attacked and punched his girlfriend in the face, injuring her. He then retrieved a knife from the kitchen and threatened to kill the woman, the PPD reported. Perez was arrested and later booked at the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department’s Porterville substation on suspicion of domestic violence and for criminal threats.
