FRESNO — A day of fun, growth, knowledge and celebration is planned for women across the Valley at the 25th Annual Central California Women’s Conference. The event will be from 7:15 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fresno Convention and Entertainment Center.

Keynote speaker Jamie Lee Curtis is an award-winning actress, best-selling children’s author and AIDS activist. She will join more than two dozen national and local speakers who will discuss important topics for women at the day-long event.

“It’s a special year for The Central California Women’s Conference — the 25th Anniversary,” said Curtis. “I’m pleased to be a part of this celebration and to inspire the women of the Central Valley to be unique, proud and strong! That is, after all, what this conference is about.”

Conference Board president Nené Casares, says Curtis is “the perfect example of empowerment and celebration for women of every age. As an actress, author and activist she continues to reinvent herself. We are thrilled Jamie is keynoting our 25th anniversary of this magnificent conference.”

Women of all ages, ethnicities and economic backgrounds attend the annual event. In keeping with the conference mission of empowerment, to date, more than one-half a million dollars has been donated back to the Valley community to support women’s and children’s non-profits.

The theme of this year’s event is Celebrate You and encourages attendees to celebrate themselves and all of the women in their life. The morning Warm-Up Session kicks off the conference by honoring 25 under-served youth who will receive the Wells Fargo/Encourage Tomorrow College and Career Preparation Scholarships.

Attendees can choose three breakout sessions to attend throughout the day from 27 options.

Topics include business and entrepreneurship, health and fitness, money and finance, family and parenting, spirituality and courage, service and activism, and strength and change.

The keynote luncheon will be held in the new Exhibit Hall with Curtis speaking about “The Uniqueness of You.”

The day winds down with the Cool-Down Session where women enter to win prizes, kick off their shoes and relax. This year’s Cool-Down speaker, Kathy Buckley, is America’s first hearing impaired comedienne. Buckley is a five-time American Comedy Award Nominee for Best Stand-Up Female Comedienne and has been named one of the “World’s Most Intriguing Women,” by E! Entertainment. Buckley’s Message is “Bringing Forth the Best of You.”

Tickets for the event are $95 and include continental breakfast, all seminars, the celebrity keynote speaker luncheon and the afternoon reception. Tickets are limited to the first 3,500 attendees. Early registration is encouraged. Tickets are available at www.ccwcfresno.org.
