Thief breaks into Porterville food mart, steals money

The manager of the Omega Food Mart contact the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department at 3 p.m. Sunday to report a burglary.

Omega Food Mart is located on the 700 block of East Date Avenue.

The manager, whose name was not disclosed, said a man entered the back area of the market during business hours and stole an undetermined amount of cash.

The case is under investigation.
