Fire in locker at Granite Hills High gym, school evacauted

A fire in the boys locker room of the Granite Hills High School gymnasium led to the school being evacuated Thursday afternoon.

The fire inside of a locker was reported about 1:45 p.m. and put out quickly.

Students were evacuated as a precaution and allowed back in at 2:30 p.m.

A teacher who attempted to extinguish the fire was taken to Sierra View District Hospital and was being treated for smoke inhalation.
