Fire damages Strathmore home Saturday
Fire investigators have yet to determine what led to a fire that caused approximately $150,000 in damage to a home and its contents early Saturday morning.
The Tulare County Fire Department responded to the fire at about 1 a.m. Saturday, at 20693 Avenue 200 in Strathmore, to find flames shooting through the roof of the single-family house.
As firefighters began to knock down the flames, additional personnel entered the building to protect the contents that had not yet been destroyed by fire, the TCFD reports.
Fire officials contacted the American Red Cross to aid a grandfather, a woman and two teenagers who lived in the home.
Investigators believe the fire started in an unoccupied bedroom of the home, the TCFD reports.
