EXETER — Two suspects were apprehended Monday after reportedly being seen breaking into two vehicles, authorities report.

Miguel Angel Padilla and Juan Hernandez of Terra Bella were allegedly observed by personnel from the Sheriff’s Tactical Personnel Team and the Narcotic Task Force while they were concluding a two-week operation in the Rocky Hill area.

Deputies reported the incident at 12:45 p.m.

The burglary occurred near the Friant-Kern Canal on Rocky Hill, when Padilla, 18, and Hernandez, 25, were allegedly seen breaking into the two vehicles and then quickly driving away, the Sheriff’s Department reports.

A Sheriff’s Department unit conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. During the traffic stop, one of the suspects was allegedly seen holding property from one of the victim’s vehicles.

Padilla and Hernandez were booked in the Tulare County Jail on suspicion of vehicle burglary, conspiracy, attempted burglary and possession of stolen property.
