EARLIMART — Deputies arrested suspect Victor Alcantar, 25, at 2:49 a.m. on Saturday morning for allegedly trying to hit another man with a broken wooden rake handle.

Witnesses in the area of the Earlimart Swap Meet at the 100 block of South Valente Road told deputies that they saw the suspect running after the victim with the rake, but that they were able to remove the victim from the area to prevent injury.

Neither victim nor suspect sustained injuries and medical aid was not needed.

Deputies arrested Alcantar and booked him on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.

He also had an unrelated misdemeanor warrant out at the time of arrest.
