Detectives with the Porterville Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit seized more than $300,000 in narcotics and approximately $65,000 in U.S. currency at a West Putnam Avenue home Wednesday.

The seizure occurred at 7 p.m. in the 700 block of West Putnam Avenue. The PPD said as a result of an ongoing investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for 24-year-old Oscar Martinez’s residence in the area. While serving the warrant, detectives located 4 pounds of methamphetamine, a packaged kilogram of cocaine and more than 35 pounds of processed marijuana. They also found more than $65,000 in cash stored with the illegal narcotics and seized two vehicles used for transporting illegal drugs.

Police said the illegal narcotics had an estimated combined street value of approximately $300,000.

Martinez was arrested and booked into Tulare County jail on suspicion of possession and transportation of narcotics for sales.
