Donations needed for Holiday Food, Jacket and Toy Drive

PORTERVILLE

El Granito Foundation is asking for the community’s help as it seeks donations for its 39th annual Holiday Food, Jacket and Toy Drive.

Requests for assistance are on the rise, and already hundreds of needy families with children have signed up for the giveaway.

Needed are toys, jackets and nonperishable foods, as well as monetary donations. El Granito is a tax-exempt organization, and donations are deductible.

Drop-off locations include:

- Merle Stone Chevrolet, 800 W. Henderson Ave.

- Doraleen’s Nails, 350 W. Montgomery St.

- City Hall, 294 W. Main St.

- Villa Robles Apartments, 450 W. Springville Dr.

- Wells Fargo Bank, 815 W. Henderson Ave.

- Porterville Chrysler, 777 W. Olive Ave.

- Denny’s Restaurant, 360 W. Montgomery St.

- Special Occasions and Gifts, 183 N. Main St.

- West Coast Cash, 1172 W. Henderson Ave.

- Valley Motors, 832 N. Main St.

- El Granito Men’s Shelter, 383 W. Date Ave.

The Christmas food giveaway will be 12 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 at 383 W. Date Ave.

The Children’s Christmas Party and Toy and Jacket Giveaway will be 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, also at 383 W. Date Ave.

The Plainview Food Basket Giveaway and Children’s Christmas Party will be 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at 19667 Avenue 195.
