Man with dementia returned home

An elderly man with dementia who went missing Tuesday was located Thursday in an undisclosed location.

Detectives from  the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, with allied law enforcement agencies had been searching for Felix Garcia, 62, who wandered from his residence in the 21600 block of Brooks Avenue, Lindsay, at 11 a.m. Tuesday. At that time, Garcia was considered missing and at-risk, not just because of his dementia but because he has other medical conditions as well.

Wednesday, investigators tracked Garcia to Los Angeles after a report from a neighbor that Garcia had came to his home to ask for a ride to Los Angeles so he could catch a flight to Mexico.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Garcia was in good physical and mental health when they found him, and is no longer considered a missing person or at-risk.
