Delano man dies in solo car accident

DELANO—Adan Fernandez, 22, of Delano, died Tuesday afternoon after being ejected from his vehicle in a solo car accident.
Fernandez was driving at “a high rate of speed” in a 2006 Nissan Maxima south on Highway 99, north of County Line Road, when he veered from the roadway into the dirt center median. The car began skidding and rotating, causing the passenger side tires to deflate, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The bare rims dug into the dirt and the car overturned, ejecting Fernandez, who was not wearing a seat belt.
