Local Democrats hosting second debate watch party
The Tulare County Democrats will host its second presidential television debate watch party on today at its Democratic headquarters at 1616 W. Mineral King Ave., Suite A in Visalia.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and the TV debate is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided and donations will be accepted.
Earlier this month the local Democrats hosted a successful and packed debate gathering for the first Presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and the Oct. 11 vice presidential debate between Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Representative Paul Ryan of Wisconsin.
The debate will take form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion.
