Crime blotter 3/14/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Armando Martinez, 39,  in the 700 block of West Westfield Avenue during a traffic stop. He had a warrant for his arrest and was booked at PPD.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers contacted Guillermo Pacifico, 36,  at Prospect Street and Sandra Avenue. He was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested and later transported to TCSO.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Gerald Mason in the 300 block of South F Street during a disturbance call. He had two warrants for his arrest and was booked at TCSO.

Domestic Violence
Officers responded to the 400 block of South E Street regarding a domestic dispute. The victim reported his girlfriend, Karina Del Campo, 18, and he were in a verbal altercation over their relationship. Del Campo became upset and struck Guerrero in the face leaving a visible injury. Del Campo left the residence prior to officers’ arrival. Del Campo is being sought by police regarding this incident.

Burglary
Officers responded to the 1500 block of South Newcomb Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. It was reported that suspect(s) entered three vehicles at that location. An emergency kit and backpack were taken out of a 1992 Honda Prelude. The suspect(s) made entry by manipulating the driver side door. A set of keys from a school, sun glasses and two red box movies were taken out of an unlocked 2006 Nissan Altima. The suspect(s) rummaged through a 2003 Dodge Durango, however, nothing was taken.

Auto Theft
Officers responded to 450 West Springville Avenue regarding an auto theft report. The victim reported that suspect(s) took a 1992 Honda Accord from a parking stall located on the north side of the complex. CHP recovered a vehicle matching the description on Road 208 between Ave 176 and Ave 184. The vehicle was a complete burn and no VIN was located. The vehicle was stored pending VIN verification by CHP.

Petty theft
Officers responded to Home Depot regarding a theft report. Rosa Escamilla, 43,  was detained by Loss Prevention for taking plumbing supplies. She was taken into custody and transported to PPD for booking.

Possession of Burglary Tools / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Officers responded to the area of Westfield Avenue and Cobb Street regarding a subject crossing Highway 65 carrying bolt cutters. Matthew Long, 26,  was contacted at Prospect Street and Mulberry Avenue. Long was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of narcotic paraphernalia. He was arrested and processed at PPD.

Warrant Arrest
Officers were in the area of Main Street and Locust Avenue when they heard a verbal altercation nearby. The area was searched and officers located Jessica Spanke, 29,  who was arguing with her brother, Steven Stetts, at their residence. Spanke had an active warrant for her arrest, at which time she was arrested.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Veronica Sanchez, 33,  in the area of Locust Avenue and Hockett Street. Sanchez was under the influence of a controlled substance and arrested.

Auto theft
Officers responded to the 200 block of South Villa Street regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim reported that her tan 1995 Honda Accord was stolen while parked on Villa Street.
