Crime blotter 1/27/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted James Podergois, 49,  at during a traffic stop in the 500 block of West Grand Avenue. He had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked at PPD and later released on a cite to appear.

Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the 1400 block of North Mathew Street regarding a vehicle burglary report. The victim reported that suspect(s) punched the locking mechanism to his 2003 Chevy pick-up and stole a JVC stereo and Double X amplifier.

Vandalism
Officers responded to Joven Insurance on West Putnam Avenue regarding vandalism. The reporting party stated subject(s) broke the front window to his business.

Auto Theft
Officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of North Lindale Street regarding an auto theft report. The victim reported that suspect(s) took his Honda ATV.

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Gregorio Cisneros at Newcomb Street and Henderson Avenue during a pedestrian contact. He was determined to be under the influence and was taken into custody. He was booked at PPD and later released on a cite to appear.
