Crime blotter 1/14/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Auto Theft
Officers responded to the front lobby regarding a stolen vehicle. The victim stated between Nov. 26 and Dec. 20, 2012, an unknown subject(s) took a white 1994 Mazda 300 pick up truck.

School Resource Officers:
SRO’s conducted active shooter training at Belleview Elementary this afternoon.

Burglary / Violation of Probation / Under the Influence of Controlled
Officers responded to Food-4-Less regarding a subject detained for shoplifting. Jenny Whitling, 33, was contacted and it was reported she entered the store with the intent of stealing medication. A record check also revealed Whitling was also on felony probation in San Diego County for burglary and she was under the influence of a controlled substance. She was arrested without incident and later booked at the substation.

Felony Warrant Arrest
Officers went to East Lincoln Avenue to attempt to locate a wanted subject, Robert Routh, 31, who had six misdemeanor and one felony warrant. Routh was arrested without incident. He was cleared at Sierra View District Hospital for a pre-existing medical condition and was booked at the substation.
