Supervisors set March 19 hearing on trash rates
As expected, the Tulare County Board of Supervisors set a public hearing for March 19 to consider an increase in trash hauling rates for county residents.
The Tulare County Refuse Removal Association is requesting an 11 percent increase for residential users and 8.5 percent hike for commercial users, but the county is recommending an 8 percent increase for both.
The haulers cite increased landfill fees and fuel costs as the need for the increases. Last year the county increased all landfill dumping fees.
The rates will affect those residents who live in the county. Residents in cities are charged by their respective cities.
