Rap concert fight leads to arrests
Porterville Police officers were sent to a large fight at 32 W. Mill Ave. at 9:30 p.m. Friday where a rap concert was being held.
It was determined Juan Carlos Zepeda, Scott Emerson and Cameron Dehaas were involved in an argument at the concert. A large window was broken, but no one could identify who broke the window.
As officers were arriving in the area, they saw a white vehicle fleeing the area and running a stop sign. The vehicle yielded at RJ’s Café. Zepeda was the driver and Emerson was the passenger. Zepeda gave a false name, but was recognized by officers. Zepeda stated he was a victim of a stabbing.
When witnesses were contacted at the Mill address, they stated no one was stabbed and Zepeda cut his arm while breaking the window. Zepeda was arrested for providing a false name and DUI. Emerson had two Tulare County arrest warrants and was arrested. Dehaas was contacted at the Mill address and arrested for public intoxication.
Zepeda and Emerson were cited at the police department and Dehaas was booked at the substation.
