A woman was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run a short time after a collision occurred in the 100 block of West Morton Avenue.

The Porterville Police Department said Victoria Henderson, 30 of Porterville, turned herself in at the Police Station after police had gone to her residence looking for her.
Police said the collision occurred just after 5 a.m. Witnesses to the collision reported the suspect vehicle, described as a black Dodge single cab pickup truck, was eastbound on Morton Avenue and drove through a red traffic light into the path of a Nissan Altima, which was northbound on Second Street.

The driver of the truck, later identified as Henderson, drove away from the scene prior to officers’ arrival. Witnesses to the incident were able to obtain the license plate number to the truck, which was provided to investigating officers. The driver of the Altima was transported to Sierra View District Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Henderson was booked on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, and she was later transported to the Tulare County Jail.
