TCOE College Night scheduled for Sept. 7
Tulare County Office of Education’s annual College Night is scheduled for Sept. 7 at the Visalia Convention Center, 303 E. Acequia Ave.
Representatives from more than 80 universities and colleges will be in attendance to answer questions about entrance requirements, tuition and housing at their institutions. Tulare County College Night is designed for high school students and parents who want to learn more about preparing for and applying to colleges.
High school juniors and seniors and their parents will be given access to the event at 6 p.m. in order to have more time with the representatives. Younger high school students and their parents will be admitted at 6:30 p.m.
In addition to the college representatives, students and parents can visit a variety of informational presentations on topics ranging from admission testing and prerequisite courses to financial aid and scholarships. Select presentations will be offered in Spanish. Students will also be able to pick up instructions on applying for the annual Tulare County College Night Scholarship, which provides one student $1,000 per year for up to four years, based on academic and personal accomplishments.
College Night is coordinated by the Tulare County Office of Education, but generously supported by local service clubs, businesses and high schools.
