Porterville Chrysler honored for sales effort
Mark Sidley, owner of Porterville Chrysler Jeep Dodge, was beaming with pride Wednesday afternoon when he was presented with Chrysler Corporation’s Pentstar award.
The award recognized dealers who have excelled in sales, meeting dealer standards and being financially sound, explained Ed Scheff, area sales manager who presented the award.
Sidley, who took ownership of the dealership on West Olive in 2004, said the store has been doing very well the past couple of years.
“Last month we sold 40 new cars and in the low 30s used cars,” he said.
Last year, the store exceeded the 100% average set by Chrysler for a dealer its size, hitting 180% in sales.
“This dealership is doing excellent,” said Scheff.
He added that the Dealer Standards is a goal set by Chrysler for customer satisfaction and the condition of the building and that Porterville Chrysler had met that goal all four quarters of 2011.
Sidley gave a lot of credit to sales manager Rick Peterson, who added, “We’re doing even better this year.” He added that success has allowed the dealer to hire more people this year.
“We’re putting people to work,” he said.
Scheff said only seven dealers in the San Joaquin Valley earned the award.
“It’s a big award,” added Sidley.
