Teens held in large home burglary
A 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old female were taken into custody Monday on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property and conspiracy stemming from a home burglary reported on Monday.
Porterville police reported the burglary occurred at a home in the 900 block of North Lime Street, in which approximately $2,500 worth of miscellaneous property was taken. The burglary had apparently occurred sometime during daytime hours.
Officers continued investigating the burglary, which led to a residence in the sub-100 block of West Laurel Avenue, where they contacted the two teens. Detectives obtained a search warrant and recovered nearly all of the property reported stolen. Additional property and evidence was also located that implicated the suspects in additional burglaries that occurred within the last month.
Both teens were booked into the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility.
