Crime blotter 11/06/12

PORTERVILLE POLICE  DEPARTMENT
Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Monday Nov. 5, 2012

Burglary
Officer’s responded to 361 N. Henry St. regarding a report of a burglary. The reporting party stated that two children, ages 10 and 7, stayed home from school sick while their mother was at work. The children stated that a Hispanic male adult with a straw hat and yellow shirt was knocking on the front door. He then climbed in through the east bedroom window. They hid in the bathroom and heard the subject going through the house. He then left through the front door and stole two Nintendo DS games and a Sony PSP.

Robbery
The victim stated that he was walking on the Tule River Parkway for exercise when he was confronted by four to six Hispanic male adults in the parking lot near his car. He said that one of the subjects asked to borrow his phone. The victim said that he unclipped it from his belt and showed the subject that his phone was password protected. The subject grabbed the phone from his hand and then got into a dark colored four door vehicle and left the area.

Residential Burglary
Officers responded to the 100 block of North Leggett Street regarding a residential burglary. The victim stated that yesterday, between 5:30 and 9 p.m., suspect(s) entered her residence through a window and took a PS3, controllers, and video games.

Driving on a Suspended License / Driving without Required Interlock Device (breathalyzer) due to DUI / Violation of Probation
An officer stopped a vehicle at Save Mart on Olive Avenue and contacted the driver, Simon Bracamontes, 25. A records check showed that Bracamontes was on felony probation, driving on a suspended license for DUI, and was required to have an Ignition Interlock Device in his vehicle; however, none was installed. Bracamontes was arrested without incident and later booked at the substation.

Possession of Burglary Tools / Possession of Drug Paraphernalia / Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
An officer contacted two suspicious subjects at Garden Avenue and Third Street. One subject was interviewed and released. The other subject, Eric Stiles, 29, was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of drug paraphernalia, metal files, shaved keys and homemade “slim jims.” Stiles was arrested and booked at the substation.

Possession of Methamphetamine / Warrant Arrest
Officers observed Aaron Deroule, 34, walking in the area of Olive Avenue and Maston Street. A record check revealed Deroule had three active warrants for his arrest. Before officers could contact Deroule, he went into a residence then fled out the back door. He was located in the backyard hiding in some bushes and was arrested without incident. A subsequent search revealed that he was in possession of methamphetamine. Deroule was later booked at the substation.
