Food, fun and awards will be given out at Saturday’s Lindsay Chamber of Commerce Awards Ceremony.

According to Virginia Loya, the executive director of the chamber of commerce, this year’s theme is Black and White.

“It’s an opportunity to get together and have a nice time,” said Loya. The event will feature a happy hour, dinner, a silent auction and the awards presentations. The installation of the Chamber’s new board of director members will also take place.

Awards to be given are Man of Year, Woman of the Year, Business of the Year, Youth of the Year, the President’s award and a new award for New Business of the Year.

A final award of the night is the Recycler of the Year Award which is presented by Sunset Waste Systems. According to the chamber’s website, this award, in its second year, is for an organization, individual, business, recycling education program, or school which has helped to further recycling and waste reduction in Lindsay.

Ballots for the awards, according to Loya, were sent out to chamber members who vote in each category.

The night will begin with a no-host bar at 5 p.m. at the McDermont Field House, 365 N. Sweetbriar Ave. Tickets are $25 per person. Some tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling Yuni Loya at the chamber at 562-4929. They will also be available at the door.
