Local girl turns 12 on 12-12-12

For Cieanna Correa, a student at Westfield Elementary, it is a most auspicious birthday, with the 12-year-old seeing 12s by the dozen.
Correa was born 12 years ago at 12 minutes after 12 midnight, making today, Dec. 12, 2012, her 12th birthday.

“This one is actually pretty surprising and shocking,” said Correa. “I feel pretty excited. Other birthdays are just normal and typical.”

Her parents share her enthusiasm.

“I was surprised especially at how all the 12s lined up,” said her father Jerry.

Her mother, who describes her daughter as respectful and mature, agreed.

“We’re all excited for her. My due date was Dec. 14, but I had her two days early,” said Martha Correa,

This year Cieanna Correa, who wants to be a marine biologist, would like an iPad, but she also has a special wish.

“I want to go to a San Francisco Giants game,” she said.

To celebrate this milestone, the family, which includes little brother Brandon, 3, has planned a barbecue with family and friends on Saturday.

The family has also received attention on Facebook, as her aunt has posted an announcement.

“When my aunt posted it on Facebook, it just blew up. People from Florida, Georgia and Idaho were saying all these neat things,” said Cieanna Correa.

According to the birthday girl, her friends are also impressed, adding their “likes” to the Facebook announcement.
