Marcus Arellano - Citrus High School

Citrus High School has named Marcus Arellano the Rotary Club Student of the Month for October.

Arellano is the son of Julio Arellano and Diana Erive. He also has three brothers.

He is a senior and on track to graduate in May, school officials said.

“While at Citrus, Marcus has worked hard to catch up on his credits for graduation, and is active in the school’s Greenhouse and Landscape class where he has helped to construct custom chicken houses that have been shown at the Porterville Fair,” said school officials.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and football with friends. He has also done volunteer work with various pet adoption projects.

After graduation Arellano plans to join the U.S. Marines.

“Marcus wants to thank his mom for not giving up on him and for encouraging him to believe in himself and graduate,” school officials said. “We at Citrus congratulate Marcus, and wish [him] a bright future.”
