Amber alert issued for abducted Porterville child
Update: Father entered through window
An amber alert was issued at 6:30 this morning for an abducted 8-month old Porterville child and his mother, 18, who were taken from her parent’s home at 14000 Road 284 in the Citrus South Tule School area east of Porterville.
Lt. Keith Douglass with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department said the abduction occurred just before 2 a.m. It was reported by the mother’s parents where the mother and child lived.
According to a second report from the California Highway Patrol, the biological father entered the room through the window of the mother's residence.
Caracoza's parents were awakened at 2 a.m. to screams from their daughter that Pedro Gonzalez Mosqueda had taken the baby.
The vehicle stopped as it was leaving the scene and the mother entered the vehicle either forcefully or willingly through the window, the CHP reports. The vehicle was last seen leaving the property.
Taken were the mother, 18-year-old Monserate Carcacoza and her son, 8-month old Sebastian Mosqueda.
Pedro Mosqueda, 23, is the boy’s father.. Douglass said he has two outstanding warrants for domestic violence. He did not live with the child.
The sheriff’s office said the suspect vehicle is a red 1991 Honda Civic with a license plate of 5VOY539. Douglass said there is no indication where the man may be headed.
“We have air support up looking in the rural and remote areas,” he said.
The mother is described as 5-foot-3, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes and a mole on her nose. She has shoulder length hair. It was unknown what she was wearing. The infant is described at 12 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing red pants and a yellow jacket.
The suspect is described as 5-foot-5, 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. It is not known what he was wearing.
