PC baseball wins opener

PC 4, CERRO COSO 0
Behind the outstanding pitching of Ryan Luna and Brady Yard, Porterville College won its season opener. Luna allowed three hits over seven innings. Yard went the final two innings, allowing two hits as Luna and Yard combined on the five-hit shutout.
Nate Crocker walked and scored to give PC a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Then Dominic Chavez came through with a two-out RBI triple to give PC a 2-0 lead. Porterville added two runs in the seventh when Aaron Gray made Cerro Coso pay for an intentional walk to load the bases by belting at two-run double to make it 4-0.
