PC women fall to Merced

Without one of its main post players, the Porterville College women’s basketball team lost at Merced 70-47 on Wednesday.
Maribel Bravo was bothered by shin splints and could only play sparingly for PC (2-2 in the Central Valley Conference). “They were way to big and physical for us,” PC coach Dave Kavern said. “They pounded us inside and they pounded us on the boards.”
Eva Gutierrez scored 18 points, Jeidi Gutierrez had six points, Katrina Goulbourne had eight points and Destiny Zarate added seven points for PC.
