White Sox sign Martinez for 2012

The Chicago White Sox made it official on Sunday when they signed former Porterville College standout Osvaldo Martinez to a contract for the 2012 season.
Martinez is on the White Sox 40-man roster and is trying to make the team’s opening day roster for the 2012 Major League Baseball season. In the team’s first Spring Training game on Monday in which the White Sox lost 6-4 to the Los Angeles Dodgers, Martinez played second base and went 0-for-2.
