A happy Democrat
Editor,
Well, well, well. The election is over and President Obama will guide our nation another four years. Many of us Democrats gave a huge sigh of relief. It means that we can still keep our Medicare and our savings in the banks are protected from the money changers in the temples of Wall Street. We won’t have the moneys from Social Security put in the hands of the hedge fund operators around the world. We have had a pledge to bring our troops home and plans to end the wars overseas. We can look forward to the rebuilding of our bridges and roads and improving our education programs.
Looking at the maps that were displayed on TV showed almost total red in the middle of the country and lots of blue on the coasts. It seems that most of the knowledge, compassion and common sense is on the coasts of this great country.
We are fortunate in California; we have a Democratic Governor, Jerry Brown, and two U.S. senators, Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer, who will work with the president. Locally we didn’t do so well. We have elected two congressmen who were very much part of the tax policy that destroyed our country’s economy in 2008.
McCarthy and Nunes have taken an oath of allegiance to a lobbyist named Oliver Norquist on taxes after we elected them. The Federal Government has paid each of them a million dollars in tax money for each year they have served. They have left their Districts with over 12 percent unemployment, foreclosed homes by the hundreds, beat up roads and a mud hole for a lake.
I think it is time for us to use one of Romney’s suggestions. Let us have both of them “self-deport” to one of those red states in the center of the country, maybe Idaho or Wyoming. Those states have a lot of water and air they can pollute and it won’t blow back into California.
A happy Democrat.
