Crime blotter 2/4/13

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It should be noted that only arrests are reported, and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Friday, Feb. 1

Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance
Officers contacted Matthew Long, 26, in the 1700 block of North Lotas. He had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked at PPD and later released on a cite to appear.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Stephanie Gosnell, 24, at Motel 6 regarding a warrant service. She had a felony warrant for her arrest and was booked at Bob Wiley.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Jaime Ortiz, 31, during a verbal altercation reported at a residence in the 800 block of West Charles Lane. Ortiz had a warrant for his arrest. He was booked at PPD and later transported to TCSO

Vandalism
Officers responded to Bartlett Middle School regarding a graffiti report. Suspect(s) wrote the word “STUBS” in black spray paint. The same graffiti was written at Porterville High School.

Public Intoxication
Officers responded to Olive Avenue and Second Street regarding a male subject urinating in the roadway. Ruben Borbon, 40, was contacted and determined to be intoxicated. He was subsequently transported to TCSO.

DUI
Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Main Street and Morton Avenue. The driver, Noelia Mendoza, 41, was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. Mendoza was arrested and booked at PPD.

Criminal Threats / Illegal Possession of a Firearm
Officers were dispatched to 870 North Plano Street regarding threats. The reporting party stated that her ex-boyfriend, Jeremy Sanchez, 34, was sending her threatening text messages stating that he was going to kill her and her family. He also sent the messages with photos of him holding a revolver firearm. Officers located Sanchez a short time later and he was taken into custody for the above-listed charges. An Emergency Protective Order was granted for the victim and served to Sanchez. He was later booked into the TCSO Porterville Substation.
