Crime Blotter 06/12/12

Information below is provided to The Recorder by the Porterville Police Department. It is noted that only arrests are reported and the suspects have not been found guilty of any crime.

Tuesday, June 12, 2012
Vandalism
Officers responded to the lobby of the police department for a reported vandalism. The victim reported that over the past five days someone keyed the front passenger door to his 2003 Ford F250 pickup. He was not certain where the vandalism occurred but said he had been shopping at various stores in Porterville when the damage occurred.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted John Rivera, 46, in the 1500 block of West Morton. He was determined to have two active warrants, for which he was arrested and cited.

Warrant Arrest
Officers contacted Jose Ceballos, 55, and Benigno Rangel, 58, in the 100 block of East Garden Avenue. Both were determined to have active warrants for their arrest. Both were cited and released on a promise to appear.

Warrant Arrest
Officers initiated a traffic stop at Morton Avenue and Newcomb Street. Lori Phillips, 45, was found to have an outstanding warrant, for which she was arrested and later cited.

Warrant Arrest
Officers responded to the 900 block of North Cottage Street regarding a theft, which was later determined to be a civil issue. During his investigation, Richard Kindle, 20, was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Residential Burglary
Officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of South G Street regarding a residential burglary. The victim advised that sometime this morning, unknown suspects gained entry into her residence and stole money and jewelry.

Warrant Arrest
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jaye Street and Orange Avenue. One of the four occupants, Eduardo Teran, 37, was found to have an active felony warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into jail.

Vandalism
Officers responded to Auto Zone, 1132 W. Olive Ave., regarding a burglary alarm. Officers discovered a window was shattered. Further investigation revealed that an unknown suspect threw a rock through the window.

Violation of a Domestic Violence Restraining Order
Officers responded to the 600 block of South Cottage Street regarding a violation of a domestic violence restraining order. The victim stated that her ex-boyfriend had just left her residence after they were in a verbal argument. The victim stated that she’s recently seen the suspect on several occasions; however she did not call the police because they were civil. A report will be forwarded to the District Attorney’s Office for review, the suspect was not located.
