Don't vote Republica
Editor,
This last weekend, Judy and I made our annual trip to a barbecue at the “Touch the Earth Ranch” owned by Congressman John Garamendi and his wife, Patty. It was great to meet with old friends and campaigns of the past.
A special ceremony was held by the Garamendi’s to have the Miwuk Indian tribe to bless the land of the ranch with sacred dances. A story was told of an Indian maiden who left her camp and walked to a place where a spring bubbled up out of the earth. She knelt down, touched the earth and said, “My people are here.” The ceremony also reached out to all who were there to see what we can do with our own lives. If we see a blind person about to fall most of us will reach out to help. That brings us to caution our friends on the dangers of our votes this November.
If you have a 401K, an IRA and a mortgage on your house; if you are on Social Security or Medicare or if your parents are affected; then none of you should vote for any Republican this November.
After the election we should go outside, kneel down, touch the earth and say, “My people are here.”
