Army Sgt. Timothy P. Martin, 27, was killed in action on Friday, February 8, 2008, in Iraq.
He was born on July 8, 1980 in Tulare, California to Tony and Lucy Martin. Martin was a member of the 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division out of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Before enlisting in the army, he graduated from St. MaryÂ’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. In addition he obtained an AA degree from College of the Sequoias and an AA degree from Cochese College studying intelligence. His career goal was to continue his education in post graduate studies and eventually work as an F.B.I. agent.
Timothy is survived by his parents Tony and Lucy; an older sister Alisa; and was preceded in death by his eldest sister Bryna.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North “H” Street, Tulare, CA 93274
Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, 6:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1765 N. Newcomb Ave., Porterville, CA 93257
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 378 North “F” Street, Porterville, CA 93257, with burial at Tulare District Cemetery.
Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home, 151 North “H” Street, Tulare, California is in charge of arrangements.
