Positive experience

Editor,

I am a travelling nurse currently working at Sierra View District Hospital in the operating room. I came last April for a three-month assignment.

From my first day I have been made to feel welcome and a valuable part of a smooth running team. Last Friday night, around 7 p.m., I was called in for an emergency case. As I was driving up Jaye out by Home Depot, my car died. I want to give a big thank-you to the AMR Ambulance crew No. 822 who saw me walking in the dark and gave me a ride to the hospital. They exemplify the caring community I have found here.

I also want to thank the surgical team, Lisette Tapia, Rosa Madrigal, Tony Gonzalez Jr., Valarie Ramirez, Dr. Geiling and Dr. Preston, who made it all happen.

My experience at Sierra View and in the community of Porterville has really been a positive one and I am grateful for the opportunities I have been given here.

Thank You all for all that you do.

Sandia Schley, RN
Porterville
