City Council correct to support Proposition 8
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Dr. Kathryn Hall from Lindsay recently wrote calling for the repeal of our City Council support for traditional marriage, citing studies from 34 years ago and a lot of other psycho-babble intended to fool you into thinking that the definition of marriage should include lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender folks.
I’m not buying it, and remain proud of the fact that the Porterville City Council took a stand for traditional family values.
Dr. Hall suggested that she and her collegues had not done a very good job of educating the public about these things, and I couldn’t disagree more! We have all been well educated on this issue, and the people of Tulare County along with all of California recently spoke loud and clear that they want the definition of marriage to be “between and man and a woman.”
I encourage the Porterville City Council to stand by its decision to support traditional marriage, and encourage its members to look for other ways to strengthen the family as the basic unit of our society. When families are united and strong, entire communities are strenghtened.
