Spartans get best of Cardinals in Tulare Classic

Tuesday marked the first time the ESL foes met, with Strathmore prevailing at the Tulare Midwinter Classic, 48-42.

Strathmore’s Maribel Bravo scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds while Nayeli Colunga scored 12 to go with seven steals to help offset seven turnovers.

Lindsay’s Alexsis Arguelles scored 11 and Lindsay Blue had nine in a physical battle plagued by 63 fouls.

On Monday, Strathmore put up a fight against Hanford West but fell 45-35, before the Spartans rocked Madera 47-25.

Strathmore plays for the fifth place game today against Kingsburg.
