Storm knocks FM radio station off air

Last week’s storm wrecked havoc on Blue Ridge, 6,700 feet elevation, and radio station KZPO 103.3 FM is still off the air.

Marketing director Lee Smith said the station’s antenna was knocked out Sunday. He hopes to have the station back on the air by April 5, but they have to wait until some of the snow melts first.

“There’s many, many feet of snow,” he said of the site.

The station, licensed for Lindsay, plays nostalgic music from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, he said.
