Wrestling teams

I would like to recognize the Porterville High and Monache High wrestling teams.

At the state championships, which I attended, both teams represented themselves and Porterville in an exceptional manner. Unless you have attended the state championship, it is hard to appreciate the exceptionalism and hard work these men have accomplished.

Porterville should be proud of our state champion, Mason Pengilly, and our other medalists and qualifiers. Over 250 teams were represented at the state tournament and Porterville high school placed seventh.

Many thanks go to coaches Tim Vanni of PHS and Arthur Demarath of MHS. Looking forward to next year.
