Spartans start, finish strong in shutout

Just like their last game against Orosi, the Spartans shot out of the gates, coasted midway through the match, then put their opponents away.

Brianna Rodriguez and Hailey Tsuboi scored the first two goals within 20 minutes of the game.

Strathmore didn’t get its next goal until the 48-minute mark when Tsuboi drilled a nice shot assisted by Alejandra Valle. Andrea Gutierrez followed that up with a power shot from 25 yards out in the 70th minute.

With the win, Strathmore (13-3-2, 6-0-1 ESL) clinched its fourth straight ESL title and, should they win out their final two games (Laton, Lindsay), they’ll go undefeated for the fourth straight year.
